RBC Business Financial Services – Technology & Operations software developers build the next-generation technologies that change how millions of people interact with financial services and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond traditional banking.

The RBC Business Financial Services team offers the opportunity to leverage our new large scale transformation program to develop innovative solutions to our most challenging problems for RBC’s commercial banking customers. We hire people with a broad set of technical skills who are ready to take on tough challenges and make an impact to millions of Canadians and businesses every day.

As a UI developer, you will work on a specific project critical to RBC’s needs with opportunities to switch projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve with our customer’s needs. We need our developers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we push forward.

What will you do?

• Utilizing the latest technologies available, designing and building solutions to meet business needs
• Constantly seek out better ways to do things, new tools, new technologies, new processes
• Develop and maintain UIs and all supporting code – design and build Backbase Widgets
• Utilize technologies like Node, Angular, NX, CSS, Jest, Playwright / Cypress, NestJS
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability – design highly scalable and extensible products
• Operate in a fast paced environment while engaging in best practices at all times

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

• 5+ years’ experience with Angular (preferably v16+)
• Experience with State Management libraries such as NGRX, Redux, NGXS and know why they are a pain
• Experience with modern Web UI testing frameworks such as Jasmine, Karma, Jest, and Playwright
• Employ agile development practices including test and deployment automation
• Experience in developing accessible web applications with manual and automated testing

Nice-to-have:

• Experience building software for the financial services industry – banking, insurance or investments
• Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery using Jenkins to improve overall execution speed and product quality
• Experience building / supporting Angular Component Libraries
• Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed
