Senior VAVE Engineer I - Indianapolis, IN

Allegion is looking for a passionate Senior VAVE Engineer I to work as part of a highly engaged small team within a global organization of 12,000+ employees, representing 30+ brands (including Schlage, Von Duprin and LCN) focused on safety, security and access management. You'll work on solutions that will enable seamless access and help keep you and your loved ones safe and secure where they work, live and thrive.

What You Will Do:

• Apply engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports. Confers with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
• Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
• Specify system components or directs modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
• Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.
• Uncover product improvement and cost savings ideas within existing and new product portfolio
• Utilize Value Methodology to add value into designs while driving out excess cost
• Support execution of projects to meet quality, timing, and cost targets
• Execute projects in a team environment to bring products to market
• Collaborate with Engineers, vendors and other functions to create and justify business cases
• Support cross functional engineering, manufacturing, and product test teams by understanding and solving problems

What You Need to Succeed:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• 5 + years of experience
• Sound Engineering fundamentals, a diverse set of experience, and strong analytic and problem-solving abilities
• Strong proficiency in CAD modeling, Pro-Engineer/Creo preferred
• Understanding of manufacturing machining and assembly processes
• Passion to be at the intersection of mechanical, electronics, and new technologies
• Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to clearly report status and articulate ideas and internally sell technical concepts.
