What You’ll Do
We are looking for a highly skilled Shopify Plugin Engineer to design, develop, and maintain custom plugins and integrations for Shopify to support our point-of-sale financial products. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in e-commerce platforms and a passion for building scalable, robust software solutions. You will work closely with our engineering and product teams to deliver seamless and feature-rich integrations that improve the user experience and drive growth.
- Design & Develop Shopify Plugins: Build and maintain custom plugins, apps, and integrations for Shopify.
- Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams: Work closely with product managers, designers, and front-end developers to deliver cohesive and efficient solutions.
- API Integrations: Work on API integrations between Shopify and our backend systems.
- Custom Development: Create and maintain custom themes, applications, and middleware solutions to address client-specific needs.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and improve the performance, scalability, and security of Shopify apps and plugins.
- Support & Troubleshooting: Provide ongoing technical support, address bug reports, and implement feature requests.
- Testing & Documentation: Write automated tests, perform debugging, and produce clear technical documentation for all developed solutions
About You
- 3+ years of experience in e-commerce development with a focus on Shopify
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of Shopify’s platform, Liquid templating language, and Shopify APIs.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and React.js or Vue.js.
- Experience with PHP, Python, or Ruby for server-side scripting.
- Experience working with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational databases.
- CI/CD & Automation: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and deployment tools.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and debugging skills, with a track record of building efficient, scalable solutions.
- Communication Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience developing on Magento, BigCommerce, or WooCommerce.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Familiarity with GraphQL APIs and headless e-commerce architectures
