Job Description Summary:

PayPal is seeking an experienced systems administrator to join the Site Reliability Engineering organisation in the infrastructure space. SRE Infrastructure charter is to build and support core infrastructure for the product development team, get their features pushed to the site in an agile manner and to keep the PayPal site up and running all the time.

A systems engineer within the Paypal Autorouting team has knowledge and ideas on how to build infrastructure, support & monitor and bring in efficiency in every possible way. We are looking for outstanding system administrators with strong experience in linux administration. The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of unix fundamentals, web protocols, load balancers and network. Exceptional & methodical problem solving abilities will be critical for success, as will be a focus on quality. Job Description:

• Self-directed work style with minimum supervision.
• Ability to co-ordinate with a global team in different timezones.
• More than 5 years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure required.
• Working experience in a cloud environment is required.
• Solid understanding and expertise of Linux operating system, performance tuning and configuration including the automated installation, jumpstart, kickstart configuration, etc.
• Good understanding of virtualization technologies highly desirable.
• Experience in running DNS at enterprise scale is a must
• Design experience in deploying infrastructure components like DNS/NTP in multiple availability zones.
• Experience in automating infrastructure deployment and lifecycle is a must.
• Expertise in Ansible, Terraform is valuable.
• Experience with F5 and AVI Vantage Load Balancers is needed.
• Experience handling large scale email service is expected.
• Experience supporting enterprise-class monitoring like nagios or any other monitoring tools for network/systems/application monitoring, ability to write custom scripts/plugins for custom monitoring a plus.
• Unix shell scripting on bash or bourne shell required. Perl & PHP a plus.
• Strong technical/analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written across all user levels. Ability to create simple procedural documents.
• Good team player, self-starter, goal oriented, open minded, flexible and customer focused.
