Site Reliability Engineer - Automation Specialist

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Automation Specialist in this job role will have expertise in managing and operation of IT hardware software communications and/or application solutions and the resources required to plan for develop deliver and support properly engineered IT services and products to meet the needs of a business. Focus on Take-out projects replacing competitor softwares to IBM Automation solutions.
• The scope of this job role includes preparation for new or changed products services management of the change process and professional standards management of performance of systems and services in relation to their contribution to business performance.
• Automation Specialists who primarily apply their technical skills in an internal or external customer billable services and implementation environment. The employee guides functional objectives or technologies.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Conceptual basis of SRE: knowing the theoretical basis of SRE its principles and practices such as: SLA/SLI/SLO; Budget Errors; Golden Signals; Build to Manage; Post-mortem culture Toil others.
• Automation and IaC: Creating automations for repetitive processes using technologies such as Terraform and Ansible. It is important that the candidate has experience with the main CSPs on the market (IBM Azure AWS GCP) in order to build infrastructure management scripts;
• Monitoring and Observability: Knowledge of the theory and practices related to monitoring and observability especially with cloud-native technologies and architectures (Instana SevOne etc.). They should also be familiar with other technologies such as Prometheus Grafana etc.
• Network: SRE professionals need to be familiar with network architecture and its components such as DNS CDN load balancing firewalls VPNs traffic monitoring IP v6 etc.
• Cyber security: A reasonably good knowledge of cyber concepts and how to protect systems such as protection against DDoS attacks DRDoS and vulnerability management.
• Architecture for resilience: Knowledge of the main architecture patterns for cloud-native applications such as circuit-breaker strangle data partition etc.
• DevOps: Familiarity with DevOps practices CI/CD SCM image and library management etc.
