Who You Are:


In the role of Social Strategist, you will be a critical part of the TBWAChiatDay NY Feed team, our specialized team of social experts focused on making content built for social platforms. You’ll work to expand our clients’ presence on current and emerging social platforms, with a focus on TikTok, X, Threads, YouTube/YouTube Shorts, Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, Discord and social content marketing. You will play a key role in driving innovation and creating informative and disruptive content that meet people at different points in the consumer journey. You will be passionate about emerging tools and features on social and build strong relationships with the platform reps to get the latest information. You should be open to moving fast and trialing new ways of working.

This role reports to the Strategy Director, Social and will be responsible for working on strategy and ideation across social channels for multiple clients. This person deeply understands that content must be engaging and the future of content consumption. This individual needs to be steeped in culture and able to navigate the social landscape.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the ideation and execution of content that is aligned with client objectives and has the potential to win industry awards.
  • Ensure that trends, analytics, and consumer insights inform content decisions.
  • Partner with platforms like Meta, TikTok etc. to test platform beta programs and bring innovative solutions to our clients.
  • Educate internal and external stakeholders on platform best practices, content trends, and emerging opportunities.
  • Incorporate emerging social media trends and technologies into creative ideas, strengthening ideas from the creative team with deep social knowledge about consumer behavior.
  • Analyze the landscape through social listening, platform relationships, and consumer trends for proactive social content ideas for our clients and brainstorm with creative team to lead to great work.
  • Analyze performance of social media campaigns and make recommendations for optimization.
  • Identify social influencers and creators for our clients to potentially partner with as needed, that align with their audience and social goals. Understand the role of influencers as co-creators and craft strong influencer briefs.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with social platforms (TikTok, Meta, YouTube, Pinterest, etc.) and agency partners.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in social media strategy, preferably in a social agency, brand, or social platform setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working directly with social platform reps
  • Comfortable presenting your POV persuasively to both internal and client teams
  • Working knowledge of nuances of paid v. organic social media
  • Strong proficiency in using social media analytics tools and influencer discovery with the ability to derive actionable insights from data
  • In-depth knowledge of various social media platforms including TikTok, X, YouTube/YouTube Shorts, Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, Discord and emerging platforms

Location:

Given the nature of our Strategy team and the client assigned to this role, we are only considering candidates that currently live in or wish to relocate to New York City, in the near future (first 60 days of employment).

The annual salary range for this role is $60,000-$75,000 and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic location and experience. Other compensation includes relocation costs, if applicable.
