How We LEAD:

The goal of the Business Intelligence (BI) team is centered on providing insight and aiding in business decision making from the coordinator level all the way to the Executive level. The role of the software developer in the BI team is to take the masses of data delivered by each business partner and translate them into intuitive data visualizations at scale, empowering employees worldwide to obtain the data they need in a timely, seamless, and visual manner. Leveraged by thousands of employees across the globe, UMBI (Universal Music Business Intelligence) acts as a single source of truth for critical company information, serving every core department, including Marketing, Sales, Commerce, D2C, International, Labels, Finance, Supply Chain, Publishing, Legal, Business Development, Publicity, and Artist Management.

How You’ll CREATE:

  • Manipulate data into sleek, well-organized web applications utilizing advanced web development techniques like JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and APIs
  • Code complex, efficient algorithms to ensure optimal application functionality and seamless user experience.
  • Develop automated reports, and dashboards using software development techniques and Domo.
  • Understand business requirements to set functional specifications for reporting application.
  • Clearly convey the key insight or “story” the data reveals in a visual, intuitive format.
  • Using SQL and complex queries, gather and prepare data from multiple sources to support information analytics at scale.

Bring Your VIBE:

  • Must have 2+ years of experience in software development
  • Advanced skills in JavaScript, CSS, HTML, SQL, Tableau/Domo, Google Cloud, Amazon Redshift, and Big Query
  • Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, and Vue
  • Advanced knowledge of how to work with and interpret data, along with high aptitude for learning and creating new software programs
  • Experience with version control, such as Git
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills
  • Adaptable and personable with a team player attitude
  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in computer science, data, or related field
