We are seeking a skilled back-end developer to join our IBM Software team. As part of our team you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality software products working with a variety of technologies and programming languages.

Your Role and Responsibilities
As a key member of our dynamic team you will play a vital role in crafting exceptional software experiences. Your responsibilities will encompass the design and implementation of innovative features fine-tuning and sustaining existing code for optimal performance and guaranteeing top-notch quality through rigorous testing and debugging. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do and you’ll be working closely with fellow developers designers and product managers to ensure our software aligns seamlessly with user expectations.

The role seeks good levels of personal organization and the ability to work well within a distributed global team in a fast paced and exciting environment. You will be office based working with senior software engineers who will help you integrate into the team the department and wider IBM. You will be joining a development squad following Design Thinking and Agile principles where you are expected to collaboratively develop creative solutions. The work can be varied flexibility to learn new technologies and skills is key as we look look to help grow your career within IBM. • Design develop and maintain software applications using C/C++ and Java.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements.
• Utilize Docker Kubernetes for containerization and deployment.
• Use testing tool for APIs to ensure software functionality and quality.
• Utilize Web Browser debugger tools to identify and resolve frontend issues.
• Utilize Unix environment for software development and deployment.
• Use GDB or any other debugger for debugging and analyzing software crashes and performance issues.
• Collaborate with the team to effectively use Git for version control and code collaboration.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 2-5 years’ experience in software development
• 1-3 years of working experience with JAVA / C++/ Python / JavaScript other languages also considered.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Java.
• Experience with Docker Kubernetes for containerization and deployment.
• Proficiency in SQL for efficient database operations. Strong knowledge of Unix and its command-line tools.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
• Exceptional knowledge of data structures algorithms enterprise systems asynchronous architectures and object-oriented programming
• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
