What You'll Do
General Responsibilities:
- Add new features to our gaming platform, enabling competitions, tournaments, and social features for players worldwide.
- Collaborate with teammates who care about building phenomenal products.
- Design, plan, and implement player-facing features defined by our Product team.
- Take responsibility for the stability and quality of the features you build, and assist in rolling them out to our developers.
- Deploy continuously integrated updates to thousands of games and millions of players.
- Work with technologies including video streaming, player chat, real-time gameplay, and over-the-air deploys.
- Ship new SDK releases to the iOS App Store, Google Play, and Samsung Galaxy Apps.
- Work with cloud-based, async, and persistence technologies such as message queues, Redis, DynamoDB, and MySQL.
- Help build scalable, available, and high-performance production systems.
- Develop single-SPA and interactive web components using React.
- Build server-side logic, database schemas, and APIs using Ruby on Rails.
- React Native, native Android/iOS development, RESTful API integration, and app portfolio showcasing UI and animation quality.
- Experience with version control systems like Git and Agile methodologies.
- Backend development with Java, Go, or Elixir/Erlang, database projects with MySQL, DynamoDB, and scalable systems design in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with React, Ruby on Rails, full-stack project collaboration, and database interactions with MySQL and DynamoDB.
- Academic or Co-op Achievements
- Achievements from previous internships, Co-op experiences, or academic recognitions that highlight technical capabilities and a growth mindset. Participation in Hackathons is a plus.
Skillz offers generous company-paid benefits, time-off, leave, 401k match, etc. Check out our career page for more information. This Co-Op opportunity is for the 2024 fall semester and has a starting hourly rate of $28 per hour. Actual pay will depend on varying circumstances, including leveling, experience, and location.
