Software Engineer, Engineering Productivity, Silicon

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
• 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
• Experience developing with Python.
• Experience with cloud platforms.
• Experience working on infrastructure.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• 2 years of experience with performance, large scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
• Experience with Typscript and Javascript.
• Experience identifying customer needs.

The Silicon Infrastructure team is responsible for building and operating foundational tooling and infrastructure on which Google uses to develop custom silicon.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000-$200,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Design creative solutions to complex problems, leveraging Engineering Productivity domain knowledge.
  
• Be responsible for systems to improve efficiency of globally distributed high performance computing infrastructure.
  
• Improve development efficiency across the silicon organization through tooling improvements.
• Work on high performance, scalable, highly available services.
