Lockheed Martin in Orlando is looking for C++ coders who want to work on cutting edge national security programs.

Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is a recognized designer, developer and manufacturer of precision engagement aerospace and defense systems. This is Lockheed Martin's lead business unit for research development and production of manned and unmanned ground-vehicle systems, electro-optical and smart munitions systems and is a pioneer in the field of versatile, high-performance missile and rocket technology.

For this first assignment, the candidate will be developing software for an air-to-ground system that will provide close range platforms the capability to defeat rapidly relocatable targets. The candidate and their team will test the tactical code in an Integrated Flight Simulation (IFS) and a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) environment. The candidate and their team will implement complex algorithms and coordinate with other disciplines to deliver Weapon Open Systems Architecture (WOSA) solutions.

Candidates filling this position will need a clearance at the level specified in "Clearance Level" or will need the ability to get a clearance if not specified. In addition to meeting security clearance requirements, candidate may need to be approved to work Special Access Program (SAP) prior to start of employment.

Desired skills

- Experience with object-oriented development

- Experience with software configuration control processes and tools (gitlab, bitbucket, or equivalent)

- Familiarity with software development in Linux

- Experience with design patterns for embedded development using a real time operating system (RTOS)

- Familiarity with Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA) design concepts, software architecture and layering

- Familiarity with containerized development and deployment environments

- Familiarity with Data distribution service (DDS)

- Familiarity with DevSecOps (Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Automated Testing)

- Familiarity with Yocto OS development

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Colorado Pay Statement

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $70,500 - $135,000 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $81,000 - $152,600. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
