As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Fixed Income Option Global business, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm's state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.

Job responsibilities
- Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
- Participates in the Design phase and interact with various teams, other technology team and stakeholder.
- Builds the new platform using state of the art proprietary technology from JPMorgan Chase.
- Writes documentation.
- Work with business and technology partners to identify and mitigate technical issues
- Maintains and supports applications for trading and pricing technologies and related technical infrastructure utilized by the firm's FX Option trading businesses.
- Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Provides system-related solutions for risk management and trade settlement issues
- Defines and record application disaster recovery plans and procedures, identify application issues, and provide technical input on changes and enhancements to critical technology
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
- Strong Analytical and problem solving skills.
- Solid technology background with experience in Python programming.
- Good interpersonal skills and able to work effectively in a global team.
- Self-starter and willing to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment with constantly evolving priorities.
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced in one or more object oriented programming language(s)
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with SecDB / Athena / Quartz platform.
- Currency Trading Business knowledge.
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
