Salary Range: $135,000.00 - $175,000.00 What’s the role? This role will be focused on improving the customer service experience and messaging infrastructure that enable Etsy to deliver efficient, high-quality, and scalable support to our buyers. The team for this role is an established squad at Etsy. Our mission is to provide accurate information, and satisfactory, prompt resolutions to members when they reach support or sellers in order to deliver positive and consistent outcomes for our customers and the greater Etsy community. All the members of this squad are experienced engineers at Etsy that will support you in your onboarding. This is a full-time position reporting to the Engineering Manager, Seller Service. For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States. Candidates living within commutable distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn Office Hub or in the San Francisco Bay Area may be the first to be considered. For candidates within commutable distance, Etsy requires in-office attendance once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. The Seller Service squad is an established squad of experienced Etsy engineers. The team drives an ambitious roadmap of projects that impact the Customer Support Experience and our customers within the Etsy Community. What does the day-to-day look like? Contribute at all levels; from front-end (HTML, CSS, JS, and relevant frameworks), to API design and back-end (PHP, MySQL, BigQuery). Document technical design decisions. Working collaboratively with multiple engineers at a range of levels to support you in gaining critical onboarding about how Etsy designs and writes software. Working closely with stakeholders to improve existing processes by optimizing existing internal tools or/and creating new ones. Continuously learn from your teammates and share your own insights with them. Push code to production early and often using our continuous deployment systems. Empathy, ownership, communication, and technical skill are valued equally. Participate in code and design reviews and maintain high standards of code quality. Have experience operating in a full-stack environment and owning the development of features end-to-end Code quality is critically important to you, and you can help your team and others improve the quality of existing codebases.
