Job Description
GAMA-1 is seeking a remote Mid-level Software Assurance Engineer to join the Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) Ground Sustainment Services (LGSS) program to add to our distinguished team to sustain and enhance the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Common Ground System (CGS). The JPSS CGS is responsible for
implementing JPSS Program command, control, and communications and data processing requirements
for JPSS CGS-serviced missions. The JPSS is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s
(NOAA) next-generation operational Earth observation Program that acquires and distributes global
environmental data from multiple polar-orbiting satellites, playing a critical role to NOAA’s mission to
understand and predict changes in weather, climate, oceans, coasts, and space environments, which
supports the Nation’s economy and protects life and property.Â
Candidate must be able to obtain a Security Clearance.
Duties
- Participate and/or support all phases of software development, including requirements analysis, design, code, test, and documentation
- Learn program processes and procedures Contribute to the software quality assurance team to support development of standards and conventions
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up)
- Participate in technical exchange meetings, product demonstrations and training with the customers
- Work within a collaborative team environment
- Perform quality control on team products - Strong analytical skills
Required Experience:
- Able to serve as a team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on any project.
- Seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
- Perform quality control on team products - Strong analytical skills.
- Experience working with the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira, Insight, Confluence, Risk Register, Crucible, etc.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience working with asset management systems with database and workflow components.
- Experience working within a distributed virtual team environment, with proficiency in remote collaboration tools and practices.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to dynamically tailor communications effectively to different levels of the organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to foster strong relationships with coworkers and vendors
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university or 7+ years in lieu of a degree.
