ABOUT THE ROLE
The Solventless Production Technician I for Kalya Extracts purpose is to provide efficient, effective, fast, and consistent work to accomplish and complete tasks that were requested to be manufactured. This entails working in all Production areas including packaging. Production Technician I for Kalya Extracts specifically works with prepping the hash for rosin processing and various other techniques, assisting the team with any ancillary work necessary to complete a task, operating machinery and ensuring Quality Control standards.

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare all packaging materials for use within all departments.
- Weighing and counting out raw materials for overall production.
- Prepare hash into pucks according to SOP’s.
- Assist with vape filling and production.
- Perform vape sauce prep steps according to SOP’s.
- Perform batch quality control for all work in progress batches.Â
- Perform Cold Cure homogenization and prep for the production team.
- Work cooperatively with the production team to meet quotas and goals.Â
- Operating, sanitizing, and maintaining machinery according to SOP’s and the instruction manual.
- Calculate weight and prepare the optimal or requested quantity of ingredients required to produce the desired batch size.
- Perform daily QC checks for batch consistency, report anything that seems off whether that be smell, aesthetic or contamination.Â
- Perform the premixing for production according to the SOP’s.
SECONDARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Track and maintain accurate inventory for ingredients and materials.
- Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to the lead.
- Follow work instructions and SOPs in accordance with GMP.
- Be able to utilize scales, including calibrating and sanitizing before and after use.
- Cleaning and sanitizing workspace before shift, during shift/after different products, and after shift.
- Cleaning and sanitizing all work equipment, surfaces and tools before and after use.
- Maintain proper PPE and Hygiene.
- Handling and working with cannabis concentrates: hash, rosin, sauce.
- Wash and sanitize hands before shift, during shift, after breaks, and lunch.
- Count and confirm final quantities of finished goods on pallets and fill out batch records.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES – REQUIRED
- 1-2 years’ experience in a fast-paced production environment preferred
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Ability to work in a cold environment (40-50 degrees) for an extended period
- Must be able to work well in a group and independently; demonstrate self- motivation and initiative.
- Must be able to adapt quickly to changes in policy, procedure, and technique. Must be willing and flexible when asked to support different teams or help in different work locations.Â
- Ability to listen well and communicate effectively with direct supervisors and co-workers.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with great efficiency over 10-hour work periods.Â
- Employees must be able to follow basic instructions as well as be able to take constructive criticism from their managers so they can maintain quality standards and production goals.Â
- Communication skills for the role.
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Math Skills- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
This is a full time, non-exempt position located based in Santa Rosa, California.
Starting pay is $20.00/hr.
