What You Will Be Doing
- Perform risk assessments to identify key financial reporting risks and control objectives.
- Develop and execute testing plans to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.
- Perform process reviews to evaluate current business practices, internal control structure, existing SOX documentation, and implement any necessary changes.
- Document testing procedures, results, and deficiencies in accordance with SOX requirements.
- Communicate control deficiencies and collaborate with management to develop remediation plans.
- Assist in the implementation of process improvements and control enhancements.
- Stay updated on changes in regulatory requirements and provide guidance on compliance matters.
- Work closely with internal and external auditors to coordinate audit timing, control finding remediation and re-testing, and SOX reporting.
- Track updates needed to the internal SOX reporting tool.
- Develop SOX training materials for the process owners.
What You Will Bring to ChargePoint
- Technical expertise and program management for the continued monitoring, assessment and improvement of key business processes and internal controls impacting the company’s financial reporting process.
- Play a key role in further developing an efficient and sustainable SOX Program as the company continues to grow and evolve.
- Skill set, years of experience, enthusiasm, positive outlook, and excellent work ethics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with a natural desire to create and strengthen relationships, collaborate with internal and external teams, and provide excellent customer service
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certification such as CA, CPA, CIA, or CISA is preferred.
- More than 1 year of experience in internal controls testing and SOX compliance.
- Strong understanding of COSO framework and SOX requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
