About the role:

CHANEL is looking for a Sustainability Reporting Specialist to join the CHANEL US Sustainability Team in Piscataway, New Jersey. Our ideal candidate will have 2 years of experience, a passion for supporting environmental and social change, and a strong track record of collecting, analyzing, and reporting sustainability data. What impact you can create at CHANEL:

  • Lead the annual Net Zero Sustainability Reporting development and execution, including defining data collection strategy and project management from start to finish
  • Manage data collection related to Carbon Reporting and GHG emission protocols and perform analysis and verification in partnership with Global Sustainability counterparts and US Sustainability leadership
  • Steer collaborative, cross-functional initiatives to increase data quality related to emissions and social sustainability
  • Partner with key internal functions (eg, Finance, Legal and Business Divisions) to lead and support report assurance and compliance related activities
  • Develop annual continuous improvement plans to enhance year over year US Sustainability program performance, data integrity, reporting and transparency

What you will bring to the team:

  • Passion for sustainability, commitment to driving positive environmental and social change, and an interest in working in the luxury retail industry
  • Expertise in GHG Protocol, TCFD, carbon accounting, environmental management, and operational sustainability software systems
  • Knowledge of corporate reporting requirements such as CSRD and California legislation SB 253 and SB 261
  • Proficiency in data analysis and related tools/software for Sustainability data management and reporting. Excel skills required, PowerBI proficiency preferred.
  • Analytical skills to collect, interpret, and present Environmental & Social Sustainability data and metrics effectively (strong skills in PowerPoint preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with complex data sets
  • Collaborative spirit and ability to lead data collection, analysis and verification in partnership with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with stakeholders at all levels

Position Logistics:

  • Experience: 2+ Years of Sustainability Reporting experience, or a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field with Master's degree preferred
  • Hybrid Schedule: Minimum of 3 days a week in the Piscataway, NJ office
  • Flexibility to work from New York, NY office location as required

Compensation:

  • The anticipated base salary range for this position is $58,200 through $95,000. Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other components [may/will] include additional compensation, benefits and perks.
  • Base salary, bonus potential and other forms of variable pay [may/will be] offered for this position

Flexible Time and Hybrid Work Options:

Corporate/Home Office positions:

  • Fully Remote: Role can be conducted from home office, may require occasional travel and/or visits to corporate offices/points of sales.
  • Partially Remote: Role requires a minimum of three-days in-person office presence at the designated location/office.
  • Work-Place Essential: This role requires 5 days in person office at the designated location/office.

Retail/Field/Boutique positions:

  • Partially Remote:
    • Fragrance & Beauty Field, Fashion Regionals, etc.: Requires in-store presence to develop and coach teams, ensure boutique image and operational standards are upheld and support and create an elevated client experience. Eligible for flex time use.
  • Workplace Essential:
    • Boutique Management: Requires in-store presence to develop and coach teams, ensure boutique image and operational standards are upheld, and deliver elevated client service to drive business results.
    • Front of House Fashion: Full-time in-store and in-person presence required to support client sales and client service deliver elevated client service to drive business results.
    • Heart of House: Requires in-store presence to facilitate the opening and closing of the boutique; the receiving of inventory; shipping of product to support sales to ensure optimal client service.
