Sr Embedded Linux Engineer

Job Description

As a Sr. Embedded Linux Engineer, you will develop embedded Linux systems for security, fire, and automation products. You will define and implement architecture for new technologies. You will participate in the requirements review process and create prototypes from initial engineering samples to mass production. Additionally, you will help maintain build servers and develop automated tools for internal use, including scripts and basic hardware interfaces. Aid in supporting customers, the factory, and test agencies. You will collaboratively work with other embedded Linux engineers and application developers. JOB DUTIES:

• Developing solutions with IoT, WiFi, BLE, Z-Wave, ZigBee, MQTT, I2C, SPI, and PCIe
• Maintaining embedded Linux system including kernel, BSP, U-boot, and device drivers
• Setup CI/CD pipeline for embedded system development
• Automating tasks with scripting languages such as Bash and Python

YOU MUST HAVE:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or in related technical field
• 5+ years of working experience in embedded systems development, debugging, and testing
• Strong working experience with Linux distros, tools, libraries, and open source development
• Strong working experience with Linux kernel, device driver, and u-boot development
• Strong working experience with Yocto, CI/CD - Bamboo, board bring up for ARM based platforms (iMX6, iMX8, STM32), Python, and Bash
• Strong working experience with hardware/software integration, building cross-compiler toolchain, static code analysis tools, CMake, Artifactory, and maintaining build servers
• Working experience with JIRA, GIT, and Confluence
• Strong knowledge of IP networking, cyber security, cryptography, and network infrastructure
• Ability to read schematics and device datasheets

SALARY RANGE:

In compliance with applicable laws, Resideo provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be performed in NYC, Colorado, Washington, and California. Actual compensation is influenced by various factors, including, but not limited to, skills, experience, the specific office location, and pay differences based on the local labor market. The expected base salary range for this role is $135,999 - $236,601
