Description

The HomePod software team is looking for software engineers with strong technical experience, collaboration skills, and a desire to contribute to world class innovation in this exciting application space. We need individuals with strong client/service interaction, API development, framework implementation and iOS application programming backgrounds to enable the phenomenal living room experience for our users. The ideal candidate will have a strong software engineering and programming background with an understanding of system level development on embedded systems. If you are flexible and creative and not afraid to take on new challenges, this is a great opportunity to make a direct impact on an amazing product.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years development experience with C/C++/C#/Obj-C/Swift coding, debuggers
  • Experience with industry software engineering processes including unit test development, performance measurement, quality engineering and design group collaboration
  • Deep understanding of system level development and core CS fundamentals, such as multithreading, abstractions and distributed systems
  • Ability to break down high-level feature requests and architect practical solutions
  • Should be comfortable about living in other people's code and understanding large, multi-project codebases
  • Experience implementing Web API or similar services and REST-ful paradigms
  • Expert knowledge of Objective-C or Swift
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Passion for quality and attention to detail
  • Aptitude to independently learn new technologies
  • BS/MS EE/CS/CE or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with media playback and media content protection systems is a plus with an understanding of AirPlay, Audio Routing and similar technologies.

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
