This is an onsite position.

Job Summary

Evaluate, select, design, install, implement, configure, upgrade, and optimize the performance of Allscripts application systems, databases, network switches, firewalls and assigned technologies required to deliver infrastructure for internal and client-facing applications.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Manages, maintains, monitors, and supports the network infrastructure environment in assigned technology domain.
  •  Installs, configures, and supports hardware and software required to operate assigned technology.
  • Works with operations, to provide ongoing maintenance including updates, patches, and antivirus updates.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues in assigned technology including hardware, software, operating systems, and application-related issues; Conducts performance monitoring, systems health checks and capacity planning.
  • Identifies the common causes of the defects, prioritizes them, and systematically removes them so that they do not reoccur in further development work and reduces the overall defect injection rate (DIR)
  • Ensures validation has happened (peer, stakeholders) and all review comments have been closed /incorporated before delivery of any artifacts.
  • Ensures the quality of the deliverables as per the defined defects standards.
  • Takes complete ownership for the assigned task and reports progress of the project / task to all stakeholders timely; Keeps all stakeholders informed in a timely manner of scope creep and schedule delays.
  • Documents issues with resolutions and proactively shares with team to improve team productivity.
  • Exercises judgement within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining results.
  • Debugs system environment issues and install issues.
  • Understands and follows change management procedures.
  • Interacts with other team members, leadership, clients, vendors, and contractors.

Academic and professional qualifications

  • BS degree in Information Science/Computer Science/Software Engineering/Business preferred.

Experience

  • 5-7 years experience providing network support and configuration including routing technologies like OSPF, BGP, configuring switches, VLANS and firewalls. Aruba experience preferred.
  • 5-7 years level experience providing systems engineering in assigned product and other related technologies, recognized as the most senior expert in this subject area within the organization.
  • Experience with installing and configuring hardware and software
  • Experience with managing technology tools and network servers
  • Knowledge of Aruba networks
  • Experience with VM Ware
  • Security using tools such as SOPHOS.

Travel requirements

  • May require local travel.

Working arrangements

  • Require rotation of on call support.

Salary Range

$90,000—$99,000 USD
