Role Summary
Participates as a member of cross-functional teams, representing the Quality Assurance disciplines. Manages the Advanced Quality Planning process between the Company and the customer for all elements of on-time PPAP and customer specific requirements. Generally, completes the following duties and responsibilities with the support of senior quality assurance personnel and/or quality assurance management.
Key Responsibilities
• Incorporates customer requirements into program AQP plan and assures requirements are cascaded to components AQP plan. • Utilize the tools of APQP (PPAP, FMEA's, control plans, capability studies). Ability to perform reverse PFMEA audits, develop and manage an open issues list to drive to on-time closure with a cross functional team. • Conduct process audits to ensure accuracy of paperwork and inspection aids are present meeting the line process flow• Ensure that the requirements of the Control Plan are being fulfilled• Develops and manages a program specific quality plan on each new program.• Drives PDP elements for Quality deliverables as associated with the PDP process including MSA, appearance boundary standard, customer PPAP, MSA, special characteristics agreement, control plans, safe launch plan and AAR. • Reports all Advance Quality Planning activities to customer periodically through APQP meetings.• Analyzes product quality problems and proposes solutions. • Develops and maintains statistics (X-Bar & R, Sigma, Pp/Ppk, Cp/Cpk, Gage R&R, etc) on all significant part and process characteristics.• Provides quality requirements for seat complete system. • Develops prototype control plan; collects and analyzes pilot build data. • Prepares pre-production sample report, submits to customer upon request for approval.• Develops and executes program safe launch plan with quality plant personnel.• Provides quality/warranty concerns to team by reviewing lessons learned, warranty performance, and ensures additions to the DFMEA.• Conducts surrogate process capability studies to support product dimensional capability. • Supports JIT plant by auditing & assisting in development of mistake confirmation plan. • Performs plant control plan and PFMEA audits at major milestone events and manages / drives open issues list with cross functional team. • Supports JIT plant by assisting or facilitating PSO and PPAP activities (including PPAP to PCN changes after launch). • Keeps good quality plan records and informs program team of timely execution.• Lead resolution of discrepancies to drive PPAP to full status, on-time.• Develop customer boundary book approval and obtains plant and customer agreement and signoff. • Coordinates APQP/PDP activities with Engineering, Manufacturing, Craftsmanship, SQA group, and the customer where appropriate. • Supports Internal / External Audit efforts regarding ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949 Certification for remote site location (Group Office).• Ensure employees work in the manner consistent with the organizations established objectives and targets utilizing protective equipment, devices, measures, and procedures as promulgated by state and federal regulations. Establish clear goals for workplace health and safety. Complete safety talks, safety meetings, and required training occur, as defined.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
Education
Bachelor degree (or Bachelor's equivalency) in Engineering, Quality or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience/Special Knowledge/Skills
Minimum of 7+ years of diversified engineering and/or quality experience with increasing responsibility.
Knowledge of statistics and production quality systems.
Strong communication skills: verbal, written and technical presentations.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully complete multiple tasks within established and changing deadlines.
Demonstrated successful performance with independent problem solving and presentations.
Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
Strong presentation skills to fulfill customer and internal leadership program status updates.
Strong understanding of Ford and GM systems, including PPAP and Run @ Rate portals, business transfer and customer specific requirements.
