TITLE:                            Sr. Consultant/BI Developer

HOURS:                              Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

DUTIES: Study the customer requirements in terms of data, analytics, infrastructure, architecture, visualization needs with respect to their SAP BI Platforms (SAP BW or SAP HANA or SAP Business Objects). Perform feasibility studies on how customer needs can be met through standard SAP BI product features vs. Visual BI’s proprietary visualization extensions products such as VBX, VDT, or VBI View.

Where Visual BI’s product extensions (VBX, VDT) are unable to meet customers’ expectations, work with Visual BI Product Management and Engineering teams to define road map and upgrade plans. Install and configure Visual BI products in desktop, networked environments and in SAP’s server platforms.

Leverage business analysis and quantitative problem-solving skills to design data warehouse models using SAP BW or SAP HANA; Build queries that effectively capture business rules and visualization requirements. Develop and deploy analytical applications that leverage SAP Business Objects and Visual BI prebuilt dashboard solution templates and proprietary products such as VBX and VDT.

Provide high level programming or scripting to customize Visual BI proprietary products to suit the enhancement requests. Set up data connectivity for dashboards built using SAP BI (SAP BW, SAP HANA or SAP Business Objects) and Visual BI products, and enable data consumption from various SAP and Non-SAP data sources. Ensure best performance of BI solutions by leveraging product best practices.

Assist with product upgrades and patches for Visual BI extensions products VBX & SAP software during escalations. Ensure that Visual BI’s contractual Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for product extensions (VBX) are met. Address deployment challenges and issues and handle client escalations. 

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering (any), or related.                                           

Two (2) years of IT, or related experience must include: SAP HANA; DBT; Snowflake; Tableau; Alteryx; Power BI; and SAP Analytics Cloud 

TELECOMMUTING EMPLOYEE: Reports to company headquarters in Chicago, IL. Can work remotely or telecommute up to 100%.
