About The Role:

Platform Science is hiring a Senior Product Manager focused on giving our customers visibility and control over our Virtual Vehicle Platform. Reporting to the Director of Product Management, Virtual Vehicle Fleet, and working with a team of passionate colleagues, you will be involved in shaping the future of our company. We are founded on the mission of making transportation smart.

In this role, you will face user experience, technical, and innovation challenges as you seek to find the optimal balance between the needs of our business and the needs of customers and users who manage their fleet’s drivers and data. You are always asking questions to learn more about the ‘Why’ and ‘How’ of the world. You are a natural leader and take ownership and pride in the quality of both your work and your teams' work.

This position is based in our San Diego offices, however, we will consider remote options for exceptional candidates.

What You'll Do:

• Define the long-term vision for the Virtual Vehicle portal, and work with your team to distill this into short-term executable deliverables.
• Be a passionate advocate for the customer; understand and articulate customer needs and workflows and prioritize market requirements.
• Write requirements documents, define use cases, customer journey, and own the business metrics and KPIs for your products and services.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and find balanced and creative solutions to Platform Science's most pressing needs.
• Identify areas of opportunity and weakness in both product area and process, and articulate creative and iterative solutions.
• Drive GTM activities and serve as the product expert, assisting outbound teams with launch and product positioning activities.
• Manage the entire product life cycle by defining User Stories with detailed Acceptance Criteria and meeting a Definition of Ready; participate in daily standup and sprint reviews of engineering work products.

What We're Looking For:

• 6+ years of experience as a SaaS Product Manager shipping user-facing features to hundreds of thousands or millions of end-users.
• Strong visual communicator of user workflows, interface concepts and high-level system concepts.
• Pragmatic problem solver and can focus on relevant details (i.e. take complex customer problems and break them down into components).
• Excellent project management and team leadership skills; can motivate and lead a skilled group of ambitious peers across other teams and product areas.
• Experience defining business and technical KPIs and using them to inform decisions.
• Exceptional communication skills that allow you to bridge the gap of a team spread across the country.
• Past experience leading Software or Hardware products from idea to wide-scale adoption by the market.
• Exhibits a positive, can-do attitude and is willing to work in a hyper-growth environment. In other words, roll up your sleeves and thrive in a fast-paced start-up.
• Preferred but not required:
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Information Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Understanding of IoT, telematics, trucking or logistics technology and industries.
• Experience with pricing, packaging, and go to market positioning.
