Job Description
The Staff Accountant will assist with a variety of financial procedures throughout the accounting department, including daily, month-end and year-end processes, in addition to reconciliations and general accounting support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain data in multiple information systems or databases
• Assist in managing virtual assistants in the following processes:
Bank reconciliations
Loan entry and reconciliations- ensuring loan accuracy on a monthly basis
Accounts Payable
Property Tax Processing
Sales Tax Processing
Oversee Credit Card / Expense Process
Month End Variance Analysis
• Construction draw reconciliations-ensure accuracy and balance of loan amounts
• Process Staff Expense Reimbursements
• AP and AR as needed
• Generate timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• 1099 review and processing
• General ledger research
• Support external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations
• Analyze financial information
• Process Check Runs
• Cash Transactions, i.e. Deposits, Bank Transfers, etc.
• Other duties/responsibilities as assigned
Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· Quick Books, Yardi, Site Link software experience a plus.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
· The ability to handle confidential information is essential.
· Strong computer and internet competence, along with the ability to learn new tools and systems quickly and thoroughly. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook required.
· Works well with a team but is also a dynamic self-starter, who takes ownership of a task and completes it in a timely fashion
· Ability to perform under pressure by being able to multi-task and prioritize workload
· Knowledge and/or experience in the Self-Storage industry is a plus.
· High School Graduate required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
