We Are Blood is a vital non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring the safety and availability of the blood supply in Central Texas. With over 200 employees across multiple locations, we serve more than 40 hospitals and medical facilities, making a significant impact on our community's health and well-being.
Summary
This position is responsible for maintaining financial records among all AMOs including performing general ledger entries and maintenance, bank reconciliations, loan payment application, and reconciliation.
Responsibilities:
Banking
· Reconcile all bank accounts including bank entries for any unrecorded items in a timely manner.
· Review outstanding transactions to ensure they are relatively current and research/ask questions for items older than 90 days.
· Record loan payments and reconcile work sheets.
· Retrieve funds from donor services for deposit.
Record credit card activity from donor services
Routine Accounting Duties
· Prepare and audit all benefit insurance invoices for payment and reconcile new hires and terminations against invoices to ensure appropriate billing.
· Validate UMR claims invoices weekly and follow terminations to ensure appropriate billing. Record UMR claims invoices in system.
· Validate and record HSA invoices with each pay period. Work with HR on any discrepancies for resolution.
· Validate and record P&A invoices weekly.
· Record payroll transactions in accounting software.
· Perform general bookkeeping and organize financial forms, documents and receipts.
· Ensure all financial transactions within the company are accounted for and follow legal standards.
· Assist Accounting team for preparation of documents for external auditors.
· Recommend ways to reduce costs, enhance revenue, and improve efficiencies.
· Assure compliance with internal control policies and procedures as well as external compliance with IRS rules and other agencies.
· Serve as backup for AR clerk in processing billing and payment application as necessary and perform Tissue Distribution billing biweekly
· Coordinate with AP clerk for routine transactions, and Accounting Manager for month end procedures.
· Code and input Divvy employee transactions into system.
· Perform preliminary COGS analysis.
· Process pension and post into system.
Finance
· Support CFO with output of data analytics to include forecasting, budgeting, and statistics.
· Aide in preparation and presentation of reports.

· Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills, Education & Experience:
· Bachelors Degree in Accounting is preferred; Associates Accounting Degree with 1-2 years experience or no degree with extensive (more than 5 years) experience is required.
· Knowledge of accounting processes and advanced mathematical skills.
· Must be PC proficient, especially spreadsheets, word processing and accounting software.
· Detail-oriented with excellent organization skills, the ability to handle multiple projects.
· Ability to work independently with little supervision.
· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
· Great Plains Accounting experience preferred.
Physical/Mental Abilities:
· Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
· Must be able to manage and handle multiple priorities on an ongoing basis.
· Must have good people skills in dealing with other departments.
· Must be able to focus for an extended period of time on complex tasks.
· Must be able to draw reasonable conclusions.
· Must be able to make sound judgments and decisions.
· Must be able to sit for extended periods.

Pay: $46,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year
