Staff Accountant

RAWLE & HENDERSON LLP, the nation's oldest law office, seeks a Staff Accountant to join our team in our Philadelphia office. Key Responsibilities include: Key Responsibilities include: • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, prepare routine and adjusting journal entries, maintain general ledger accounts, and generate financial statements. • Review unallocated and suspense account balances, ensuring accuracy in all accounts. • Assist in preparing annual tax filings, manage state nexus requirements, and coordinate with external accountants. • Prepare, monitor, and analyze the annual budget, addressing anomalies with senior management. • Manage daily cash reports, positive pay systems, and bank account activity, recommending funding strategies. • Monitor internal controls, report inconsistencies, and develop strategies to enhance accounting processes. • Assist with vendor/client requests, insurance renewals, collections monitoring, and other administrative tasks. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field required. • Minimum of 3 years of law firm accounting experience preferred. • Proficiency in Aderant, Microsoft Excel, Word, and other relevant software. • Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and maintain meticulous recordkeeping. • Experience with document management systems. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with attorneys, staff, clients, vendors, and court personnel. Location: This position is located in our Philadelphia office 5 days per week.
