What You’ll Do
Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. is looking for field application engineering Staff Engineer to join our DRAM Product Planning and Business Enablement Group in our office in San Jose, CA. This person will be responsible for technical support, primarily handling technical issues from customers and partners, joint validations efforts, self-qualifications as well as supporting local customer engineering teams. Key emphasis will be on promoting and enabling new DRAM technologies and business, troubleshooting urgent technical problems, the detection of potential issues during the early stage of a product qualification and the coordination with internal R&D teams. This position may provide the candidate with in-depth spec review, and hands-on experience with Samsung memory products including signal integrity, timing analysis and memory rank margin testing measurements.

Hybrid, working onsite at our San Jose Headquarters 3-5 days per week on with the flexibility to work the remainder of your time remotelyÂ
Reports to: Director
- Support key customers through DRAM memory enablement, new technology roadmap review, issues troubleshooting, diagnose and root cause of system memory failures.
- Evaluate and promote memory related RAS features on next generation server and consumer CPU’s
- Evaluate and promote new memory technologies such as CXL and HBM and have related technical discussions with customer engineering groups
- Solid understanding of DRAM SI/PI and timing analysis as well as performance parameters.
- Develop and publish updates on resolutions and communicate findings internally.
- Drive necessary discussions with external and internal teams on test specification and methodologies to improve product quality and spec continuously
- Manage customer engineering teams, procurement engineering and other technical stakeholders to ensure Samsung DRAM products are designed-in and qualified on customer platforms
What You Bring
- Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related Physical Science with 10+ years of experience or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related Physical Science with 8+ years of Industry Experience or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related Physical Science with 5+ years of Industry Experience Preferred.
- 7+ years of professional work experience in semiconductor technology, or memory field with customer facing responsibilities
- Solid experience with DRAM memory products.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment including digital multi meter, oscilloscope, power supply, logic analyzer, etc.
- Background in DRAM performance measurement as well as Signal Integrity/Power Integrity (SI/PI) and timing measurements.
- Familiar with modern computer architectures and its components (CPU, Memory, Networking, PCIe.).
- Experience in technical data analysis.
- Knowledge in changing system configurations and measuring change impact.
- Good understanding of DRAM datasheets and analysis of DRAM spec
- Strong communication skills.
- Leadership skills for driving customer enablement strategies and debug activities.

Base Pay Range
$158,400—$312,000 USD
