Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Search Quality

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development with data structures/algorithms.
• 5 years of experience with machine learning algorithms and tools (e.g., TensorFlow), artificial intelligence, Large Language Models or natural language processing.
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 3 years of experience working in an organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for motivating query growth by making Google Local Search work better for user needs.
• Be responsible for designing accurate Search Quality (e.g., retrieval, ranking, triggering, result-presentation) systems for solving user needs that could be specified using long natural language queries.
