 Meet the Team:  

Torc’s focus is on ISO26262, ISO21448 & ISO21434 compliance, and we are seeking passionate teammates to join us in this hands-on environment. As a member of the Physical Architecture team, your contributions will be essential in ensuring reliability of the autonomous L4 truck system. You will work closely with the safety and cyber security team to perform risk analysis, define requirements of the system, and hardware level, and collaborate with our suppliers to develop a safe and reliable autonomous trucking solution. 

What you'll do:  

  • Reliability analysis of the architecture of our Automated Driving System 
  • Determine and apply changes to prevent or to reduce the likelihood or frequency of failures 
  • Apply measures to identify and correct the causes of failures
  • Determine ways of coping with failures that occur
  • Mentor and coach engineers in their technical growth on building reliable system architectures
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Systems Engineers, & Tech Leads to develop the technical road map, derive requirements, and design system components 

What you’ll need to Succeed:  

  • Master’s in Computer Science, Aero/Math/Electrical//Mechanical Engineering or a related field & 7+ years of experience or a bachelor's with 10+ years of applicable experience  
  • Experience with safety critical systems
  • Good understanding of stochastic and functional safety methods, e.g., fault tree analysis
  • Fundamental understanding of sensors, electronic control units and embedded systems
  • Experience developing system architectures and ability to determine tradeoffs, and optimize solutions

  • Ability to explain complex technical issues and justify solutions with data
