Job Title:Â Staff Scientist, Sequence Developer
Location:Â Guilford, CT (onsite)
SUMMARY:Â
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Sequence Developers develop code and algorithms for imaging, contrasts, signal processing, and image reconstruction. Additionally, sequence developers are involved in new system development, testing, manufacturing, quality assurance, and hardware integration.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive the development and integration of new hardware, including troubleshooting hardware, writing test code and optimization.
- Developing, building, maintaining, regulating, and troubleshooting MRI systems.
- Invent and/or source new sequence, signal processing, and image reconstruction methods that help the company’s mission.
- Improve imaging and manufacturing sequences and code architecture.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL:Â
- Demonstrated track record of self-driven, innovative work, including publications and/or patents in MRI (or related field), and especially as it relates to hardware.
- Ability to drive and execute a technical development project to meet company goals and timelines .
- Ability to write, execute, test, and evaluate code.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional scientific and software development environment.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Â
- PhD in physics or related field (or equivalent)
- 5+ years’ experience developing MRI pulse sequences, general image reconstruction methods, signal processing methods, numerical algorithms, or software.
- Experience developing NMR or MRI hardware, or other similarly complex RF or electronics.
- Proficiency in NMR physics.
- Proficiency in Python or similar language.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to write, execute, test, and evaluate code.
- Must be able to create and evaluate technical developments and features within a scientific process.
- Must be able to be present physically for a regular 40-hour work week.
