Job Description
How You’ll Support Our MissionÂ
As a member of our newly formed EMS Medic-5 Engineering Team, you will be working on a new, high-profile product which ESO is launching to revolutionise the Emergency Medical Services marketplace and fundamentally change the way ambulance crews and clinicians provide and track the medical care they provide. Partnering with Apple to build our new iOS app in an innovative iOS Native architecture will allow ESO to use many of the out of the box features and functions you may find on an iOS device. This role is an opportunity to make a real difference to community health and safety while growing your expertise on a cutting-edge application which makes use of the latest iOS technologies. Our software engineers are passionate about their craft and revel in shipping software that improves patient care, so if you are ready to write elegant and innovative code that will affect real change, this is the job for you.Â
Reporting to the Development Manager you would be an integral and influential part of our Engineering team.  Â
Â
What You’ll Be Doing – the day to dayÂ
Â
As a Staff Engineer, you'll take on a dynamic role that combines technical expertise, leadership, and collaboration. You'll work closely with product managers and designers to understand project requirements and translate them into a scalable, efficient app architecture. You'll be instrumental in the development process, writing and reviewing code primarily in Swift, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices. Throughout the development cycle, you'll implement robust testing strategies and optimize the app’s performance to ensure a seamless user experience. Additionally, you'll mentor more junior developers as the team expands, providing technical guidance and conducting code reviews to maintain high-quality code. You'll also collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate the app with backend services and APIs, and continuously monitor and debug any issues that arise. You’ll help to drive continuous improvement in the development process and contribute to the overall success of the project. Â
Â
Our development engineers lead by championing a culture of personal ownership and customer-focused execution. We love those who pride themselves on how they contribute through excellent solutions and end-user experiences, as much as clean and clear code.Â
