The Role:
At adMarketplace, we create best of breed consumer search technology using cutting-edge architectures with millisecond response time and crunch through terabytes of data every day. The ideal candidate is a passionate technology leader who is motivated to design for massive scale, developing for low latency and pushing the boundaries of using real-time data in automated decisions.
What You’ll Do:
- Act as a technical leader, driving innovation, and contributing to architectural decisions that shape the future direction of our ad technology platform.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental factors that drive our business and recognize the critical role our ad serving technologies play within it.
- Design, develop, and re-build highly scalable low latency Ad Serving APIs, ensuring reliability and operability.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, data scientists, and other engineers, to define and deliver key features and functionalities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting best practices, code quality, and efficient development processes.
- Perform code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and drive continuous improvement in software development practices.
- Debug and troubleshoot complex problems across multiple systems and services.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, and evaluate their potential impact on our platform.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Must have 8+ years strong hands-on development experience using Java (Java 17+ preferred).
- You love working in an environment where you can influence the technical direction of teams that seek to deliver consistently and iterate quickly.
- Extensive knowledge of algorithmic complexity/simplicity tradeoffs, effective use of data structures.
- Deep understanding of design patterns, and experience working in a layered architecture with stakeholders and architecting the systems.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and propose efficient solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with full transparency and a strong desire and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Bonus Points:
- Knowledge of key concepts in Ad Tech, such as ad serving, bidding, and targeting.
- Experience with modern technology stacks, frameworks, and tools relevant to ad technology, such as real-time bidding (RTB), demand-side platforms (DSP), or supply-side platforms (SSP).
- Comfortable using cloud-based DevOps tools and continuous delivery
- Knowledge of distributed caching technologies such as Redis and Aerospike.
- Hands-on experience building backend services using relational and non-relational databases.
- Contributions to open-source projects or active involvement in technical communities.
*Compensation Range: $155,000 - $230,000

*This range represents the low and high end of the base salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of adMarketplace in the New York office. Salaries will vary based on various factors including but not limited to professional and academic experience; training; associated responsibilities; and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.
