Summary:

The Sterile Processing Coordinator will be responsible for organizing services in the Sterile Processing department, providing the Sterile Processing department with clinical, educational, and technical support. This position is responsible for maintenance of sterile supplies and equipment inventory to support current and new surgical services. This position if responsible for coordinating processes within Sterile Processing to provide instruments and supplies for use in a safe and timely manner to meet surgical and other patient care needs within the hospital.

Education:

• Associate Degree preferred, High School degree or equivalent.
• Knowledge of nursing procedures and aseptic technique is necessary.
• Minimum 3 years experience working in Central Service or Sterile Processing (that provides centralized decontamination preparation/assembly of OR instrumentation sterilization, and distribution of supplies to OR on case cart system), or Certified Surgical Technologist with 2 years of OR scrub experience, or 1 year working in Central Service or Sterile Processing with Associate Degree (obtained within 6 months of hire).

Certification/Licensure:

• CRCST Certification or CBSPD Certification or CST Certification.
