Storable is looking for a SE II to join its new AI-focused development team, Storable Labs! As an engineer for our new products, you will be responsible for designing and developing AI-based features and products to support our highly trafficked self-storage software to help our clients DO MORE through technology.

What you'll do every day:

• Design and develop new AI-based tools using Node[Typescript] and React.
• Integrate AI based tooling to increase efficiency across our organization.
• Whiteboard and execute on new and exciting ways to integrate AI into our existing products.
• Collaborate effectively within the team, across the tech department, and with our business partners to deliver top priorities.
• Promote engineering best practices, demonstrating effective design and maintainable code.
• Contribute to the documentation and testing of our applications.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality software design and architecture for integrating AI products into existing web applications
• Stay up to date with latest developments in AI space
• Identify, prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
• Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
• Review and debug code
• Perform validation and verification testing
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to fix and improve products
• Ensure software is up to date with the latest technologies
• Make improvements to existing code as needed

Desired Skills

Must haves

• BS in Computer Science (or equivalent)
• 5+ years of professional work experience in software development
• At least 3 years of professional experience developing applications using Node.js and React
• Production experience with REST API best practices
• Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL or MySQL 
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS)
• Soft skills to support a positive and productive team environment
• A self-starter with the ability, passion, creativity, and confidence to independently problem-solve and produce results 
• Ability to work remotely in an environment conducive to productivity
• Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Agile software development

Nice to haves

• Strong familiarity with LLM provider APIs like OpenAI
• Experience using docker containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD
• Experience with C#, PHP, or Ruby on Rails 
• Deep understanding of software design patterns
• Strong history of implementing testing methodologies to move quality to the left.
