The Storefront Lead Accountant will work alongside Storefront Operations driving optimal performance (revenue, cost, fulfillment, quality, cash) and project execution for the Americas Storefronts, a key part of the GE Aerospace Services portfolio. Responsible for driving technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis. Necessary to utilize in-depth understanding of key business drivers and knowledge of best practices to accomplish tasks while considering how own area integrates with others.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

• Responsible for general accounting, policy application & process administration for all cycles including inventory, revenue recognition, receivables/payables, and intercompany transactions. Understand and interpret applicable Enterprise Standards and SOPs to deliver globally competitive financial processes for the Americas Storefronts.
• Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or experience and analytical thinking.
• Leverages technical expertise while collaborating with others to solve problems.
• Using established procedures consults People Leader or more senior team members for issues outside of defined parameters. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
• Develop strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.
• Focuses attention on details when performing defined tasks.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of Storefront Finance and ERP operating unit.
• Explain complex information to others in a clear, concise manner.
• Responsible for monitoring of KPIs such as aged WIP, quarantine, inventory, and payable balances.
• Support all Physical Inventory activities.
• Will lead small projects, applying FLIGHT DECK principles. Developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. May handle sensitive issues.
• Jobs at this level function with some autonomy but are subject to functional practices and precedents or are covered by well-defined policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree from an Accredited College or University in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience with at least 3 years in a financial role.
• Preferably experience in accounting/finance or similar industry.
