Job Description:
Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office) which requires working in the nearest Elevance Health office 1-2 times per week. The rest of the time would be working remotely (from home). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health office locations. Target locations include Indianapolis, Atlanta, and Chicago
Strategic Sourcing Manager
The Healthcare Clinical Sourcing Team manages a Sourcing portfolio of member and client facing products and programs across Commercial and Government business units. This position is part of Elevance Health's Global Supply Chain Team and will work on supplier contract deals that interface with the Government Business Division, specifically with Medicaid and Medicare. This position will also serve as a project manager for several key initiatives in the supply chain department and facilitate large, complex supplier contract projects. Categories under spend management may include, Medicare Product/Supplemental Benefits, Over the Counter member benefit programs, Medicaid Redetermination vendors and Clinical Domains (Diabetes, Substance Use Disorder, Food as Medicine, etc.) where members conditions are managed through a mix of clinical and technology solutions.
How you will make an impact:
- Executes standardized strategic sourcing processes for assigned projects
- Builds and maintains strong working relationships with internal customers and key suppliers for sourcing categories and various projects
- Strong contract negotiation and legal understanding of terms and conditions.
- Focuses on cost savings and cost avoidances during negotiations
- Works in cross-functional teams to aggressively track and improve supplier performance.
- Participates in fact-based negotiations and executes contracts utilizing approved terms and conditions, while facilitating across multiple subject matter expert teams in the company
- Implements sourcing recommendations and develops complex Sourcing category strategies jointly with the product business teams
- Serves as a project manager for several key initiatives in the supply chain department
- Works with stakeholders on new business case development for senior leadership
- Cross-coordinates initiatives with the digital team's health solutions
- Aggressively monitors, tracks and reports supplier compliance and performance benefits.
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a BA/BS; 8 years of experience in sourcing/supplier selection with at least 6 years experience with negotiation of pricing and contract terms and conditions; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA preferred.
CPM preferred.
