Qualifications
ASSESSMENT FACTORS
1. Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills to compose and deliver responses to complex questions in a clear, concise, and organized manner.
2. Develops ability to work in at least one TE role (i.e., Instructional System Designer, Instructor, and Learning Development Specialist)
3. Coordinates adjustments to schedules, tasks, and priorities when necessary.
4. Maintains flexibility in involving others when completing a task.
5. Applies decision making techniques in complex situations to include anticipating and recognizing best practices and choosing options to maximize benefits to the office, directorate, or Agency.
HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS
1. Ability to teach in a variety of modalities (e.g., classroom, mobile classroom, synchronous, and asynchronous online delivery).
2. Experience in adult learning principles and instructional strategies and teaching/training adults.
3. Experience leading Defense and/or Intelligence Community training teams.
Individual Occupational Requirements
Education
Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.

Experience
General Experience (for GS-5 positions): Experience that provided evidence of the ability
to instruct students in the use of equipment, principles, or practices of the subject or
occupation. This experience may have been gained as a teacher or instructor; in on-the-job supervision or instruction of subordinates or fellow workers; or in work involving
application of the principles, practices, and techniques of the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled.
Specialized Experience (for positions above GG-5): Experience that demonstrated a practical
knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction.
Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
β’ Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s).
β’ Supervising or administering a training program.
β’ Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of
β’ training results.
β’ Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
Additional information
DIA positions are Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) positions in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1601. All applicants must be U.S. citizens at the time of application. Applicants must meet the agencyβs conditions of employment, to include, but not limited to, satisfactory completion of an initial special background investigation and periodic reinvestigation, completion of any required medical examination and physical requirements, completion of any required personal interviews, favorable completion of any required initial or aperiodic polygraph examinations, completion of any required drug test, satisfactory completion of a two-year Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System trial period, and completion of a civilian mobility agreement.
