The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for developing and leading supplier quality methods for Famous Supply. This role focuses on improving supplier quality through supplier audits, corrective actions, inspection processes, performance measurement and management, and product investigations related to customer feedback. This role will also manage the warranty claims process for assigned products.
Essential Responsibilities
Lead quality processes including:
· Drive the product incident, warranty and claims processes. Collaborate with sourcing, sales, and insurance providers as needed to provide effective and timely resolutions.
· Lead product investigation processes – this includes working with outside laboratories as well as developing and conducting internal product tests and investigations.
· Audit suppliers either on-site (may include international) or via desk-audits or work with peers in international locations to assess supplier audit results conducted by others.
· Work with peers in remote locations to develop supplier audits and audit programs that will be conducted by others.
· Lead and manage corrective and improvement actions (8D/4D) with suppliers.
· Develop pre and post shipment inspection programs for suppliers.
· Build and manage supplier scorecard processes and KPI’s. Use these to improve supplier performance.
· Conduct and/or coordinate internal inspection and containment activities
Preferred Experience & Skills:
· 2+ years’ experience in quality and/or supplier development
· Strong technical quality and manufacturing background including a Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in a technical/engineering field or equivalent experience
· Experience with multiple types of manufacturing and inspection methods
· Experience with different manufacturing and compliance requirements
· Experience conducting and leading quality audits
· Experience leading activities with international suppliers
· Strong computer skills including WMS and/or ERP systems, MS Word, , Excel, Outlook, , etc.
