Job Description
A Supply Chain Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the Spare Parts Planning organization will use spares data and data models to improve the spares planning systems and processes. Determining the balance between inventory, service delivery (SLAs) and expenses will be crucial in this role as Inventory optimization, expense management and productivity are the key deliverables of the team. The Spares Parts Planning team rolls into the Applied Global Services (AGS) whose goal is to provide aftermarket support of the install base with the parts and labor to keep the tools up and running.
The SME will be tasked with evaluating spares data like demand history to plan spare parts globally to ensure the smallest economical part wait time and understand the P/L impact of global changes. They will also be independently building/evaluating theories, proposing improvements with empirical data and executing change management. They will be pulling and manipulating data using tools like SQL, creating dashboards in Tableau and presenting in PowerPoint. The SME will be working cross functionally with groups like Procurement, Logistics, Planning and IT to understand data and process flows and the impacts of stocking level changes. A background in After-Market Service Supply Chain is a plus but just a fundamental understanding of Supply Chain Management, forecasting and finance is needed in this role to ultimately deliver recommended stocking levels.
An ideal candidate will be able to act independently, think analytically and discuss openly.
