Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for Japanese cuisine and a commitment to delivering high-quality sushi dishes. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting sushi in a fine dining environment, ensuring that every dish meets our high standards of quality and presentation. Duties • Prepare a variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and creativity. • Ensure all food handling and safety regulations are strictly followed to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment. • Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan menus that highlight seasonal ingredients and innovative sushi offerings. • Maintain inventory of sushi ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to ensure freshness. • Assist in catering events by preparing large quantities of sushi and other menu items as needed. • Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests about menu items and offering recommendations. • Continuously improve skills through training and staying updated on the latest sushi trends and techniques. Experience • Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the restaurant industry, preferably in fine dining establishments. • Strong knowledge of food handling, food safety practices, and kitchen operations. • Experience with menu planning and catering is highly desirable. • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
