LOCATION: This position is a hybrid role, based in Indianapolis, Indiana or Twin Falls, Idaho at the Clif Bar Plant.
Mission: Supply Chain Sustainability Program Manager is a critical role leading the sustainability agenda across Clif Supply Chain that covers Procurement, CS&L and Manufacturing with a strong emphasis on our Bakery goals and initiatives. This role is a conduit between Clif supply chain team and the Impact & Sustainability team to manage the planning and execution of projects and programs to deliver our long-term supply chain sustainability commitments and goals.
Responsibilities & Outcomes:
- Ensure personal safety, food safety, and quality protocols are followed.
- Manage the supply chain component (with a focus on direct operations/bakeries) of sustainability projects in partnership with the Impact & Sustainability team.
- Lead the development and implementation of bakery and supply chain plans to help achieve Clif sustainability goals, including but not limited to climate, waste, and water commitments.
- Partner with Clif Bakeries, Engineering, Procurement and CS&L to ensure resource allocation, planning and execution across multiple projects.
- Partner with external experts to develop business cases, negotiate agreements and craft statements of work, and prioritize and execute delivery of breakthrough projects.
- Manage sustainability-related facility and certification audits including, but not limited to, Rainforest Alliance (RA), Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), and SEDEX.
- Evaluate current practices at each facility, understand requirements and limitations, and develop effective solutions to ensure corporate sustainability objectives are met, including waste reduction and diversion, water, and energy conservation.
- Champion employee engagement in partnership with Community engagement leads at Clif bakeries to educate and engage employees on sustainability efforts and opportunities.
- Develop and clearly communicate project plans, technical achievements, accountabilities, dependencies, budget, progress updates and other resource requirements to customers and all parties involved in the execution of the project including support personnel, other departments, contractors, and vendors.
- Develop (as needed) and implement standard project management methodologies and tools, including sustainability data management and reporting software or tracking tools.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as Impact and Sustainability, purchasing, accounting, operations, EHS and external partners such as contractors, equipment supplier and engineering consultants.
- Support Supply Chain sustainability projects and initiatives as needed.

- Draw from experience in technological innovation, core project management, communication, and creative problem-solving skills to drive and deliver solutions.
- Expert communication and influence skills and ability to drive effective discussions at all levels, with internal and external stakeholders​​.
- Ability to manage/lead project and cross-functional teams at a corporate or plant location.
- Self-motivated, results and action oriented. Able to make independent and sound decisions.
- Up to 40% travel required.
- ​BS or MS in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field.
- 8 years of related experience in engineering, industrial technology, or related field.
- Experience in a manufacturing or food production environment a plus.
