What You'll Get to Do:
- Provide technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations. Supporting activities associated with delivery of customer-defined systems, hardware refresh initiatives, and software projects; that encompass:
- Technical expertise to be able to design, install, maintain and support CentOS/Linux systems - physical and virtual.
- Experience with Oracle RDS administration
- Monitoring system performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and securely.
- Providing technical support when requested.
- Patient and professional demeanor, with a can-do attitude.
- Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, networking, and system issues when they arise.
- Replacing and upgrading defective or outdated components when necessary.
- Installing, configuring, and deploying server hardware and software, including operating systems, applications, and patches to support and maintain effective network service operations.
- Supporting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining server issues and security.
- Managing, deploying, configuring, and maintaining servers in a virtualized and traditional environment.
- Assisting in creating scripts to monitor systems, diagnostics, resolve issues, and automate routine tasks.
- Providing support for device management including image development, mobile device management, application packaging and deployment.
- Creating, and maintaining written and verbal procedures; prepares written technical documentation, training material, standards, reports, and other documents as assigned.
More About the Role:
- Your responsibilities will include maintaining existing systems by analyzing, designing, and implementing changes to the system baselines so that baseline changes meet customer requirements. You will also work with upcoming technology refresh projects. Day to day activities include responding to support requests, remotely supporting system installations, and building development environments. Contributing to operational and system support documentation in accordance with the program's configuration management procedures, regularly notifying the team lead when problems or issues arise that are outside the normal scope of work are other activities you will get to support.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass CBP background investigation, criteria will include:
- 3 year check for felony convictions
- 1 year check for illegal drug use
- 1 year check for misconduct such as theft or fraud
- 5+ years related professional experience
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Object Migration Tool migrations
- Past experience administering server-side technology
- Familiarity with SQL and database operations.
- Ability to prioritize a wide range of workloads with critical deadlines.
- Availability outside of working hours to resolve emergency issues promptly.
- Experience with designing/managing CRON Jobs (LINUX shell scripts)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with very strong communication skills and work ethic; self-starter and highly proactive
- Thorough knowledge of server and system administration principles
- Experience working with WebSphere, SQL
- Experience with managing AWS environments and Oracle RDS

- Familiarity with the general IT practices and terminology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with very strong work ethic; self-starter
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- College degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Information Management Systems, experience considered in lieu of degree.

Pay Range: The proposed salary range for this position is $79,000-$161,900. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
