System Field Service Engineer

Job Description Summary

All resources, and logistics required to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' site/property. These activities contribute to, maintain, repair and refurbish sold or existing products. Includes all types of maintenance service (preventive and remedial), manage maintenance facilities and field services engineering. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• The person should be an Iraqi nationality and based on Iraq
• Test Engineer (GE / ALSTOM Substation Automation System) will be responsible for testing of Substation Automation System used for various voltage levels in Iraq
• The incumbent will be responsible for different project phases (Engineering design, Pre-FAT, FAT, site acceptance works, SAT, and close out), understanding the client requirement, understanding of project specific documents, preparation of RTU & HMI & configuration based on approved documents, testing of the same and inspection with customer in factory, support to Project Management/Engineering/Commissioning team for smooth execution of the Project
• 3-4 years of experience in configuration, testing and troubleshooting of GE/ALSTOM Substation Automation products/Systems
• Experienced about ethernet switches, router and firewall, different architectures RSTP, PRP and HSR, different type of communication ethernet, fiber optic, serial RS232/RS485, PLCC etc.
• Have knowledge substation automation and communication protocol SNMP, SNTP, Modbus, IEC60870-5-103, IEC61850, IEC60870-5-101 and IEC60870-5-104
• Able to be reading panel drawings/scheme
• Verifications of technical compliances of HW/SW GE/ALSTOM systems
• Preparation of HMI configuration like SLD, system architecture, bay views, interlock views, alarms, events, etc.
• Testing of SCS system and integration with different types of IED's/meters/devices, understanding network

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic
• Transformers design process experience would be an asset
• Min. 3 years' experience in relevant field
• No travel restrictions
