In this role you will occasionally be required to visit datacenter locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Responsibilities

• Support internal engineering teams by enhancing, maintaining, performance tuning, and planning capacity of the engineering compute environment.
• Constantly improve the engineering environment from design through deployment, including additional refinement and scale-up to support future growth, along with day-to-day operations including monitoring, measuring, and troubleshooting infrastructure and services.
• Automate all things by identifying, owning, collaborating, and driving new or further automation to enhance the consistent stability of the environment, achieving expected productivity levels with minimal supervision.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3+ years of qualifying start-up or software/hardware based technical support roles.

Additional Required Qualifications

• Broad experience in system administration supporting Linux (RedHat/CentOS preferred) to include automated OS installation, software compilation, package management, virtualization, OS lifecycle management, diagnostic and performance troubleshooting/profiling and maintaining common monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Ganglia, Nagios, Splunk, etc.) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt, etc.)
• Broad experience supporting and maintaining common Linux/Unix applications and services, as well as a deep understanding of DNS, DHCP, LDAP, NFS, AutoFS, Kerberos, PAM, PXE, SNMP, SSH, VNC, X11, HTTP/S, and NTP.
• Located within 30 mile radius of Santa Clara, CA

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with shell scripting, interpreted, or compiled language (Python, Perl, Bash, Go, C, or C++)
• Additionally, we would hope to see experience with common version control software (Git, CVS, SVN, or Perforce), knowledge and experience with NFS and high performance storage solutions such as NetApp, Pure, and/or cluster file systems.
• Understanding complex interplay between the networking layers.

Annual Salary Range and Level

The base salary for this position ranges from $125,000/year up to $160,000/year. This range is based on role, level, and location and reflects the salary target for new hires in the US. Individual pay within the range will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s job-related qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
