Job Summary:

The Data Center Systems Administrator works with the Datacenter Systems Engineers to ensure the integrity, availability and efficient operation of Alogent's hosted environments. This position is responsible for day-to-day operations and assists with maintenance planning, service prioritization, and recommending/implementing changes according to industry standards, methodologies, and processes. This position, together with the Datacenter Systems Engineer, will drive datacenter operations solutions in collaboration with Alogent's application, development, and support teams.

The qualified candidate will have Information Technology experience as well as great communication and project management skills. This position requires 5+ years minimum of hands-on technical experience in a Systems Administration or similar role and will report directly to the Director of Datacenter Operations.

This is a hybrid position with a minimum requirement of 2-3 days per week working from our headquarters in Peachtree Corners, GA.

Responsibilities:

• Provides day-to-day operational oversight in a 24/7/365 enterprise level environment supporting many customers in the financial services sector
• Maintains virtual environments, ensuring maximum availability of all infrastructure
• Maintains real time monitoring, dashboard reporting, vendor interface, and change control processes. Ensures completion of daily tasks and initiatives.
• Proactively identifies issues, use KB articles to create and escalate incidents; actively participates in the problem resolution process
• Work to implement preventative maintenance activities, including backups, patch management and vulnerability scanning
• Works with internal and external teams and vendors regarding maintenance and configuration
• Works with Support and other datacenter team members to identify and correct operational issues
• Assists in creation and maintenance of disaster recovery plans; collaborate and help maintain a run book for the datacenter operations team
• Help develop and implement operations and escalation procedures
• Helps in maintaining and upholding operational standards, processes, and audit programs
• Maintains a high level of urgency and excellent customer response time.

Requirements:

• 3+ years technical experience working in and supporting an enterprise or datacenter environment, in a systems administration or network engineering role, or similar role
• Four-year degree in Information Technology or other technical field or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of experience in Unix/Linux systems administration and strong application support/troubleshooting.
• 1-2+ years supporting Azure or AWS environments
• In depth technical knowledge of MS Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, MS-SQL 2016/2019
• Extensive networking skills including LAN/WAN/Router/Firewall/VPNs
• Experience maintaining storage technologies such as SAN and NAS
• In-depth knowledge of VMWare virtualization technologies such as vSphere and vCenter
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, ADFS
• Knowledge of networking with equipment like firewalls, switches, load balancers and VPNs
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and break down complex technical problems
• Script writing capability (i.e Powershell/Python)
