Systems Administrator - Senior II - ESA04Β - Sr Linux Admin

Solutions3 LLC is supporting a large Prime Contractor and their U.S. Government customer on a large mission critical development and sustainment program to design, build, deliver, and operate a network operations environment, including introducing new cyber capabilities to address emerging threats. Sols3 is seeking a Sr. Linux Systems Administrator to support the design, development, and deployment of advanced cybersecurity capabilities.
Job Responsibilities:
β€’ Provides ongoing systems administration, technical support, upgrades, and troubleshooting services.
β€’ Provide full coverage for Linux or Unix system administration functions to support the DevOps tool sets.
β€’ Install, configure, support, and maintain middleware (e.g., JBoss, Apache, Tomcat, Nginx, etc.) to support the DevOps tool sets.
β€’ Works closely with application and product teams in understanding their specific automation requirements and implement with them an optimal CICD pipeline.
β€’ Write unit tests and integration tests to validate infrastructure code.
β€’ Identify engineering defects in the existing code base and constantly improve the code quality.
β€’ Maintain configuration and support documentation.
β€’ Manage assigned project components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives.
β€’ Develop, through programming and scripting, automation to further expand and refine the DevOps tool sets.
β€’ Work closely with the software development teams in defining their DevOps CICD pipeline and processes and implement and configure the DevOps tools with them.
β€’ Incorporate AWS native cloud services and features to enhance the performance and resilience of the DevOps tools and infrastructure.
β€’ Contribute and collaborate to design, document, and publish DevOps and cloud standards, principles, guidelines and best practices.
β€’ Seek opportunities to increase the business value of the DevOps tool chain through research and investigation, application team input, automation options, POCs, etc.
Required Skills:
β€’ Must be a US Citizen
β€’ Must have an active Secret clearance and be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
β€’ Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability
β€’ 6+ years of system administration in Linux, ideally Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 7 or 8 (RHEL7 / RHEL8) with the ability to engineer, install, administer and maintain complex system architectures
β€’ Experience with Linux OS installation, security hardening, and maintenance
β€’ Experience with administration and management of Linux servers to include installation, configuration, optimization, backup & recovery
β€’ Experience with Linux performance tuning & troubleshooting, identifying and resolving contention in CPU, memory, networking, disk I/O, etc
β€’ Experience with products such as Red Hat Satellite Server, Puppet, Chef and/or Ansible
Desired Skills:
β€’ Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible or other comparable products
β€’ Experience working in an agile development environment
β€’ Experience with software development using java, RESTful services
β€’ Comfortable with multilevel security systems, SELinux, and/or Cross Domain Solutions
β€’ Experience with data orchestration software such as Apache NiFi or StreamSets
β€’ Experience with distributed compute environments such as Hadoop
β€’ Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform capabilities, including good understanding of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Well-Architected Framework, AWS certification
β€’ Experience working in AWS via the CLI and management console. Knowledge and experience configuring Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs)
β€’ Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps environments
β€’ Familiarity with the following technologies in a cloud environment: ELK Stack (ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana), Ansible, Nessus, Zscaler, ClamAV, AIDE, Splunk, DNS, NAT, git, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Jenkins
Required Education:
β€’ Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field. Two years of related work experience may be substituted for each year of degree level education.
Desired Certifications:
β€’ DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II
β€’ Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
