What you’ll do:
Systems Engineers will build, ship and maintain the software along with the development team. They are integral to the success of our Software Development Life Cycle. On average a Systems Engineer spends time working across teams configuring and maintaining infrastructure, evaluating new solutions, and addressing operational gaps. A Systems Engineer shares in the responsibility to deliver a stable product at a high velocity of deployment.
What you can expect:
- Engineer technical solutions for the business supporting both development and operations.
- Design and implement compute infrastructure for in-house developed and third party applications.
- Engineer network infrastructure for multi-site, multi-cloud environments.
- Create and maintain infrastructure as code and configuration management packages.
- Design, operate, and optimize continuous improvement and deployment processes.
- Participating in on-call rotation.
- Design and implement monitoring of applications and infrastructure.
- Ensure high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical host computer resources.
- Lead problem-solving efforts involving outside vendor, other support personnel and/or organizations. Provide leadership in the planning and implementation of projects for enterprise systems.
- Remain current with technological developments in the industry.
- Provide recommendations for ways the company can utilize new technology. Champion change and process improvement.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Leverage internal and external resources for learning and focus on what is pertinent to organization’s needs
- Remain current on knowledge and skills necessary for software development, including programming tools, development techniques and related technologies.
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you need to be successful:
- Strong understanding of systems engineering; meaning formalize various approaches simply and continuously vet out new methods.
- Experienced in virtualization and containerization platforms as well as infrastructure configuration as code.
- Strong knowledge of the Linux operating system, both from a virtualization and container perspective, and solid understanding of open source technologies in general. Debian and CentOS preferred.
- Experience with network design including switching, routing, DNS, DHCP. Advanced understanding Web Server design.
- Solid scripting and automation skills.(For example, bash and python)
- Cloud PaaS and IaaS knowledge is required.
- Experienced with CI/CD concepts enabling multiple teams to ship multiple workloads constantly through the day.

- Communication: Ability to listen to others and convey ideas effectively and foster open communication.
- Innovation: Ability to generate novel solutions and creative ideas in order to identify system or program problems, and propose pragmatic solutions

The compensation amount for this role is targeted at $114,000-$124,750. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including your experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
