TTI is hiring an experienced Systems Engineer as part of the core infrastructure team at our Corporate office in Northwest Fort Worth, TX. This is a Hybrid Opportunity!

The role is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting critical virtualized infrastructure for Windows and Linux servers in TTI datacenters. This role will also take a proactive approach to monitoring to ensure system availability and resiliency.

This hands-on individual will have in-depth experience building out Nutanix and/or UCS clusters and defining backup requirements. Additionally, will be skilled at developing Infrastructure as Code to automate deployment, configuration, and management of infrastructure.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provides solutions designs and implementation plans and maintains Server and Networking infrastructure. This involves the ability to design, implement, and clearly document open systems architectures, track lifecycle of technologies, and create Disaster Recovery plans.
  • Contributes to the development of new ideas and principles in support of Application development and business users. For example, assess the feasibility of application deployments or application modernization and determine appropriate resource requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues that may bridge multiple technologies including on-prem and Azure resources.
  • Provide ongoing operational support for our environment consisting of VMware, hyper-converged infrastructure, Windows and Linux systems, and various Azure services.
  • Critical thinking skills to detect and quickly resolve complex issues in a proactive manner.
  • Create standards and documentation of procedures.
  • Train and lead existing team members on automation practices and be a champion for automation and cloud initiatives.
  • Rotating on-call for production support.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, and 8-10+ years of related professional experience in IT Infrastructure design and administration.

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Virtualization - VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) or Nutanix Certified Master - Multicloud Infrastructure (NCM-MCI).
  • Data protection and monitoring - Veeam, Varonis, Isilon, SolarWinds.
  • Proficiency with JSON, PowerShell, and Azure CLI.
  • Experience with Python and REST APIs is a plus.
  • Server administration - Windows (MCSE), ReHL, or AIX.
  • Ability to generate meaningful reports from various data sources.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to read, write, and understand documentation and procedures pertaining to the operation of networks, servers, and applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects involving technical implementations or upgrades.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in teams with a collaborative interpersonal style.
  • Ability to work weekends and after business hours and participate in on-call rotation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, enter data into a computer terminal, and perceive and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids.
  • Detect and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; converse in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
