About the role:

This position works within our Tax and Business Services department. You will be working with a team of like-minded individuals and have the following day-to-day responsibilities:

What you'll do as a Tax Accountant at Bookkeeper360:

• Preparation of individual (1040) and business tax returns (1120, 1120s, 1065, 990)

• Assisting bookkeepers with year-end tax closing and tax-related questions

• Client outreach to gather information and follow up on the status of upcoming tax deadlines

• Multi-State sales tax preparation as needed

• Conduct research related to current tax law and new legislation

• Communicating with clients on tax-related matters, including government correspondence & notices

• Business incorporation and state registration

• Support team with tax resolution and compliance work

If you are proficient in Intuit ProConnect, Lacerte, Avalara, TaxJar, Gusto, Quickbooks Online or Xero, communication and collaboration tools like GoogleMeets and GoogleChat, and you enjoy learning how to use new softwares and tools, you'll fit right in

Gets you to the top of the list:

• A passion for helping small businesses

• 2-4 years of individual & business tax preparation experience

• EA/CPA is a plus

• 4-Year degree in accounting or a related field (BS/MS/MBA) required

• General knowledge surrounding sales & payroll taxes

• Industry experience specific to e-commerce, saas & professional services

• Cloud-based accounting experience

• Public accounting experience

• Excellent analytical, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
