About the role:

Known’s Finance team is looking for a seasoned Tax Manager to be the owner and subject matter expert for all things tax across the company. This position will report directly to the VP, Controller.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Prepare and review quarterly income tax estimates and partner distributions
• Prepare and review year end tax calculations for financial statement reporting
• Work closely with external tax compliance preparers to provide required information, review, and file income tax returns on a timely basis
• Manage compilation of data for annual R&D credit
• Oversee indirect tax compliance including review of requirements, preparation and review of workpapers and filings
• Model and evaluate tax implications of potential transactions
• Work collaboratively with Known business functions (Accounting, FP&A, Legal, HR, etc.)
• Manage tax audits, draft responses to inquiries, and analyze audit calculations and workpapers

WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU HAVE

• A degree from a well-regarded college or university 
• 5-7 years experience in partnership tax; big 4 preferred
• A willingness to learn foundational knowledge and skills rapidly
• Must be based in NYC area; hybrid schedule
• Self-starter, able to pivot in an evolving environment where strong organizational, communication and analytical skills are essential
• Ability to discuss and explain tax calculations and implications to equity partners in clear and concise way

The base salary for this position is $115K - $120K.

            This range is posted in compliance with state and municipal Pay Transparency laws. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible to receive additional Known benefits.
